Although this topic isn’t directly related to sustainability, I wanted to introduce you to the NAHB program to become a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS).  The certification is something that is attainable to you now as students or after school, but it will allow you the flexibility to market yourself as a specialist in the design/build concerns for the aging population. And with the increasing numbers of Baby Boomers aging having a focus on aging concerns in design is important.

Please visit the site and learn more about this timely and important certification option Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS)

i’m absolutely interested in aging in place issues because it’s so important to be a well-rounded designer and i feel like it would be a huge resume/portfolio booster and qualify me for jobs to which i couldn’t otherwise contribute or play a vital role on a team. because of the $490 for national course fees and graduation fees, it won’t happen now, but i’ll certainly keep it in mind for the future.
